We have picked tomatoes from the seeds we planted in November. It took 122 days for them to grow. Some were big and some were small. We picked the first tomatoes on March 20th. On April 23rd we picked one called Black crim. It has a mass of 57 tiles. The small tomatoes have a mass of 1 tile each. The plants have grown all the way up to the ceiling. The tomatoes tasted like summer!
After last recess today we went out to the bus side of the school and dug and dug and dug in the fresh snowbanks. Macey and Leland got stuck in the snowbank. We dug tunnels through the banks and wiggled through like little worms. The snow was so deep. Some of us were building a fort in the path. Some were carving with gardening shovels. The sun was shining brightly and the temperature was only minus 10. It was a very fun day.

Mrs. MacPhee
I've been teaching for over 20 years in three different provinces. Most of those years have been in the primary grades. I love teaching grade one because of the dramatic change I get to see in the children from the beginning of the year to the end of June. It truly is amazing! Archives
